The artwork exhibited is one of a series of pictures I have created to capture the timeline of my cats life. This image is an acrylic paint print depicting an image of my cat at 6 weeks old. I wanted to use materials that are as eco-friendly as possible and I used a slab of botanical gel and cardboard for my printing press. I traced over the original photo of my cat and transferred that trace to cardboard and then cut into the line work to create my stencil. I then used two different shades of non-toxic acrylic paint on the gel slab using paint rollers and used my stencil between the separate colour coats. After pressing paper on top of the gel it created my final print.
