Grace Davies-Jones

This work is heavily based on Neostalgia through the use of nostalgic foods. I created moulds of food using hot glue and then cast the objects using hot plaster to make the items into ceramic pieces. I have purposely kept the pieces white because the participant they represent will not be sat at the table in this sense it represents a more spiritual tea party. I have seven place settings, with a final one left empty to symbolise the space for events or people that are not yet present in my life. This then provides a way of thinking forwards into the future, but also through my contemporary arts practice.
