Charlotte Davies

My research led to an investigation of feathers; where they are found in our language, history, costume design and art. While some people place value on feathers as a spiritual sign from a deceased loved one, others see them as a representation of cowardice. The final pieces combine the 3D with textiles, hand embroidery and machine free embroidery as well as an assemblage of feathers - collected since the inception of my idea marking the passage and passing of time.
